On 10 October 2024, SGM Perak, together with the Persatuan Kebudayaan dan Kesenian Orang Asal Perak (PKKOAP), delivered captivating performances at Sin Chew Daily’s 95th anniversary celebration held at Shen Jai High School, Ipoh.
The performances opened with an indigenous artist skilfully playing the nose flute, while an Indian performer recited President Ikeda’s long poem dedicated to Malaysia titled “Youthful Country with a Shining Future.” SGM youth division members then recreated nostalgic scenes of childhood games and rural life at the background during the indigenous performance. Later, an energetic dance by the youth division members further added vibrancy to the celebratory atmosphere.
That evening, performers from various communities came together to showcase the spirit of harmony and unity that characterises Malaysia’s diverse ethnic groups.
The celebration was officiated by Housing and Local Government Minister YB Nga Kor Ming and was attended by over 1,000 guests.
