On 20 July, the Greater Kuala Lumpur (GKL) area held a pre-exhibition sharing of “The Lotus Sutra – A Message of Peace and Harmonious Coexistence” exhibition at the SGM Culture Centre. The event was also broadcast live to six venues, gathering over 1,800 participants.
SGM young men’s division secretary Siow Yoon Kee and young women’s division secretary Hon Pue Kuan explained the characteristics of the Lotus Sutra, the exhibition’s core ideas and its potential impact on the world. They highlighted some exhibits, including the Lotus Sutra manuscripts, historical documents presented to President Ikeda by research institutions worldwide and letters written by Daishonin, among others.
They also shared positive feedback from visitors of various religions and backgrounds, encouraging everyone to visit the exhibition and inspire others to do the same, in order to gain insights on peace and coexistence.
GKL women’s division leader Tan Set Nee spoke about the exhibition’s purpose and expressed her hope that each visitor would leave feeling rejuvenated.
