On 24 March, Prof Chung You-Hui, a prominent Taiwanese modern printmaker delivered an art talk themed “Sustainability, Creation and Appreciation of Printmaking” at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, attended by over 70 art enthusiasts.
Moderated by Dasein Academy’s fine arts programme head Kim Ng, Prof Chung shared insights from his artistic career spanning over half a century. He provided guidance on material selection, colour usage and printing techniques.
He also highlighted how he managed to retain traditional techniques while incorporating contemporary conceptual forms into his creative process.
During the art talk, Prof Chung addressed questions from the audience, explaining several topics such as the promotion of printmaking, the distinctions between printmaking and printing, and the rewarding moments of being in the artistic field. His sharing led the audience through an exploration on the value of printmaking art and future trends, deepening the audience’s understanding and appreciation of printmaking.
