On January 2, 2019, Tadika Seri Soka (TSS) welcomed 158 new princes and princesses, together with their parents.
The entrance ceremony was held at the TSS auditorium. Right from the beginning, the children were already seen playing with each other after some dancing and singing.
In his message, founder Daisaku Ikeda mentioned that he saw all the children as “the treasures of the world,” and was looking forward to them illuminating this world with “the bright light of hope.”
TSS principal Mdm Lye Loy Hou was present to welcome the children who are taking their first step in pre-school. She also brought good news to the children, which is the founder’s gift of a handkerchief for each of them. Mdm Lye also promised that the teachers will work together to create a fun and cheerful study environment and hoped that the children can learn everything taught there.
Later, chairman of TSS’ board of directors Prof Dato’ Dr Christopher Boey told a story to drive home the importance of greeting others. He then sang songs with the children which further enlivened the atmosphere.
At the end, the teachers used puppets to put on a show titled “Follow the Teachers.” This is to ensure that the children will fit into their classes as quickly as possible and start learning.
