On 9 and 10 December 2023, some 500 student division members from across the nation gathered at the SGM Headquarters Culture Centre for a two-day training course themed “Mission Reconnect, Passion Reignite.”
In his welcoming speech, SGM youth division leader Andrew Looi encouraged all participants to uphold a strong seeking spirit, aligning with the student division’s mission.
Later, SGM men’s division secretary Looi Chee Choong shared that wisdom, courage and compassion are the qualities of being a global citizen and urged the participants to start practising human revolution.
SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai gave a keynote speech explaining that promoting peace, advocating dialogue and fostering global citizens are among the core values of a religion in the 21st century.
SGM women’s division leader May Chan spoke about her prime point with President Ikeda, encouraging the participants to repay their debt of gratitude towards President Ikeda by building a better self.
The student division members also attended the SGM Building a Culture of Peace Annual Peace Lecture Series.
During the course, the participants had the opportunity to engage in exciting games and performances, emanating youthful vibes.
After the two-day event, many participants expressed their determination to become global citizens, introduce Nichiren Buddhism to others and create value in society.
