The South Asia and Japan Soka Women Training Course took place on 4 and 5 April, with 80 women’s division representatives from India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand participating.
At the opening ceremony on 4 April, Soka Gakkai women’s division leader Kimiko Nagaishi delivered a heartfelt message, encouraging all participants to create a land of human harmony in order to transform the destiny of humankind.
SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai highlighted the significant roles women play in advancing society and expressed his hope for the training course to mark a new milestone in realising President Ikeda’s vision of making the 21st century as the century of women.
Representatives from India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand delivered their greetings and shared their determination to embody President Ikeda’s spirit in advancing kosen-rufu.

During small group discussions, participants explored a range of topics, such as shakubuku movements, the study of The New Human Revolution, and fostering successors. Representatives from Japan also shared their victory reports, hoping to share the joy of practising Nichiren Buddhism while encouraging the others to maintain strong faith.
The participants later attended the South Asia and Japan Soka Women General Meeting held in the same venue.
A visit to TSS and SISM
Before the opening ceremony, the participants also visited Tadika Seri Soka (TSS) founded by President Ikeda in 1995. Welcomed by TSS Principal Ho Lee Choo, they learned about the kindergarten’s history, a corner dedicated to honouring the founder’s legacy and heard inspiring stories of the alumni.
The following day, the women toured Soka International School Malaysia (SISM) and had friendly interactions with students.

A visit to MDPH
During the training course on 5 April, the participants embarked on a meaningful journey to the Mentor and Disciple Peace Hall in Wisma Kebudayaan SGM. With a strong mentor-disciple seeking spirit, they examined the exhibits and reflected on the legacies of the three founding presidents of the Soka Gakkai: Mr Makiguchi, Mr Toda and President Ikeda.
The participants also paid close attention to the SGM Kaho group’s guidelines given by President Ikeda, which encourage women to be courageous, maintain pure faith and live a correct way of life.

During the closing ceremony later that evening, Ms Kimiko Nagaishi expressed her hope that the training course would mark a fresh beginning for all, urging everyone to continue advancing with President Ikeda and Mrs Ikeda in their hearts.
