On 19–21 January, SGM coorganised the “Seeds of Hope and Action” (SoHA) exhibition with Persatuan Pengajian Malaysia (Malaysian Studies Association) of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) at the university campus in Tanjong Malim, Perak.
Twenty one UPSI students took on the role of narrators, explaining the panels to 151 visitors. Among the visitors was UPSI University Community Transformation Centre director Assoc Prof Dr Mohd Azlan Nafiah who officiated the exhibition.
In his welcoming speech, Faculty Of Human Sciences deputy dean of student affairs and alumni Dr Abu Zarrin Selamat highlighted how the exhibition served as a platform to deepen the students’ understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He also expressed his hope that organising the activity would promote teamwork among the students.
The three-day exhibition also featured games to promote the 6R (reduce, reuse, recycle, refuse, rethink and repair) of sustainability, further strengthening the visitors’ understanding of the SDGs.
