On 7 July, over 600 SGM members from Sarawak gathered at the SGM Sarawak Culture Centre to celebrate its 5th anniversary.
In his congratulatory speech, SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai reaffirmed the centre’s noble mission, as envisioned by President Ikeda: to be a “treasure castle of happiness”, “castle of friendship and trust” and “castle of peace and capable people”. Mr Koh encouraged all members to strive towards making the centre a bastion of Soka, serving as a model for worldwide kosen-rufu.
Zone leader Sie Kian Wui expressed his deep gratitude to the pioneers of kosen-rufu in Sarawak. He also urged everyone to dedicate their efforts in building a Youthful Soka Gakkai and promoting the Lotus Sutra Exhibition.
The event later featured two experiences, as well as a resolution sharing session.
SGM Vice-General Director Chang Meng Keng encouraged all to live a fulfilling life by upholding the five eternal guidelines of the Soka Gakkai. Meanwhile, SGM men’s division leader Dr Christopher Boey spoke about expanding the network of happiness.
The celebration concluded with vibrant dance and song performances. Participants vowed to engage in shakubuku and foster youth in the spirit of President Ikeda, with the goal of advancing kosen-rufu in Sarawak to greater heights.
