The 10th Malaysia Games (SUKMA) drew to a close on June 6, 2004 in a dazzling ceremony at the Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Paroi, Negeri Sembilan. After one week of intense competition, about 7000 athletes and officials bade farewell to the host state, Negeri Sembilan. Around 600 youth from SGM Negeri Sembilan took centre stage with their performance of rhythmic gymnastics. Being the sole performance for the ceremony, their creative movements such as human waves and other synchronised formations, including the word formation ‘SUKMA X’ mesmerised the capacity crowd of 40,000.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak officiated the closing ceremony. The event was also attended by Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Mohamad Hasan, Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Azalina Othman and Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.
