Upholding the spirit of humanitarian relief efforts and not to let any vulnerable groups be deprived of basic food needs, SGM donated RM20,000 to the Food Aid Foundation on July 29 to support B40 families and those facing severe financial stress.
By collaborating with the foundation, SGM distributed basic food items such as rice, cooking oil, vermicelli, flour, canned food and many other kinds of dry food to 250 households. Many of the recipients are from the poor and low-income community and include single mothers, older Malaysians, people who have lost their source of income and daily wage workers.
This food aid programme focused on affected households that were under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in the Klang Valley. Similar financial aid is still being provided through various channels to help with the needs of those affected.
