Throughout October 2018, Women Division (WD) members nationwide organised nearly 900 small group meetings to commemorate SGM Women Division Day, which falls on October 21. In total, some 9,000 women joined these meetings, including around 360 new friends.
During the meetings, a message by SGM WD Leader May Chan was read out. She stated that small group gatherings are now widely-held around the world because participants can share their joy or problems openly with others. She also urged WD members to move forward one step each day, eventually establishing a hopeful attitude towards life.
In Kedah, the members studied “Let Every Day Be Soka Gakkai Mothers Day!”, an article written by SGI President Ikeda, in which he stressed that small gatherings can inspire each other to be enlightened, and the places where they encourage each other and create victorious dramas of human revolution form the network of encouragement.

In Johor, several SGM pioneer members shared with the participants that pure faith will enable one to attain happiness, while others shared how they overcome problems concerning children and mothers-in-law. All in all, they urged members to share Nichiren Buddhism with others and enable more people to attain happiness in order to show gratitude to our mentor President Ikeda.
SGM Perak WD members held dialogue sessions with “Happiness” as their theme. Meanwhile, from October 5 to 31, SGM Penang held 124 commemorate meetings at 84 different venues.
