Welcoming the new year 2023, SGM members nationwide participated in the new year’s gongyo meeting held online and in culture and district centres. They chanted daimoku with vitality and prayed for world peace and the happiness of the people in unveiling the “Year of Youth and Triumph!”

Year 2023 also carries the profound significance of being the 10th anniversary of the completion of the Hall of the Great Vow for Kosen-rufu and the 30th anniversary of SGI President Ikeda’s writing of the novel The New Human Revolution.

President Ikeda sent a New Year’s message in which he praised the members for their devoted efforts in bringing enlightenment to people’s hearts, and expanding the network of hope and happiness.

Through video communication, General Director Koh Sia Feai thanked all members for their selfless dedication to promote kosen-rufu and expressed his hope: “Let us unite in harmony and work together with the youth to achieve new achievements in kosen-rufu.” Mr Koh also visited the Selangor Culture Centre to give encouragement.

In addition, members in each state also watched President Ikeda’s guidance video, experiences of SGI youth members as well as victory reports and resolutions. The performances of the Hope Fife-and-Drum Corps, music band, dance group, youth division and other culture performances enlivened the meeting, encouraging all members to welcome the “Year of Youth and Triumph” with joy!
