On December 23 and 25, 2021, with joint efforts from Unit Tindak DAP Bangi and volunteers from other groups, SGM volunteers in Kuala Lumpur helped to clear the mud and clean the surroundings of Kampung Batu 10, Cheras, and Kampung Melaka, Hulu Langat, which were both severely hit by the recent flash flood.

There used to be farms in the area and the smell of dead animals hung over the place after the water receded. The muds were accumulated to about 5 inches high too. The volunteers worked to move destroyed furniture to outside the houses, clean the muds and dig channels for water to flow.

Meanwhile, some 15 SGM volunteers helped to prepare 1000 packs of relief goods and basic necessities which were then distributed to flood victims in Hulu Langat, Semenyih and Balakong areas.

These shared efforts of working together with others to assist the affected communities will serve as a lighthouse of hope in the community.
