From 4–8 July, SGM Selangor cohosted a picture book course at its culture centre and Yuen Green Farm in Hulu Langat. Organised by the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Picture Book Fans Association, the course aimed to promote local picture book creation and enhance the quality of picture book publications.

Taiwanese veteran picture book authors Liu Hsu-Kung and Emma Hsu, along with local experts Novia Shin, Chua Chinn Yin and Chang Shie Khim, were invited as instructors. They shared their artistic experiences and provided professional training to 31 local and international participants.

Participants created artworks based on randomly assigned themes, allowing them to unleash their imagination and creativity. They then shared their concepts and received feedback from the instructors. The exchange of ideas was highly beneficial to the participants, and their artworks are expected to be exhibited to the public in September and recommended to publishers.
