Under the enthusiastic “Let’s go!” slogan, a range of activities, engaging youths and friends in discussions about Buddhism and happiness were held around the nation.
On 29 June, the Soka Peace Musical Concert was held at the SGM Setapak Centre, Kuala Lumpur, introducing the philosophy of President Ikeda and the Soka Gakkai through performances.
The performers, who are of different religious backgrounds, visited the Mentor and Disciple Peace Hall at the Wisma Kebudayaan SGM prior to the concert.
Beginning on 21 July, SGM Negeri Sembilan conducted a series of happiness sharing meetings, where members shared their experiences overcoming challenges, deepening participants’ understanding of the Soka philosophy.
On 4 August, a carnival was held at the SGM Culture Centre. There were stalls selling food, books, Korean traditional clothing and handicrafts. The event was complemented by live singing and experience-sharing sessions.
SGM Selangor’s friendship festival on 3 and 10 August, held at its culture centre, featured energetic cultural performances and inspiring experiences. It earned high praise from many attendees who were new to Soka Gakkai.
On 12 August, youth division members from Sabah Kota Kinabalu South area organised a chanting and discussion meeting at its centre, encouraging the participants to conduct dialogues about Buddhism and affirming shakubuku as an act of giving hope. A happiness-sharing meeting also took place at the SGM Sabah Culture Centre on 25 August.
