On 28 September, the joint exhibitions “The Lotus Sutra – A Message of Peace and Harmonious Coexistence” and “Islam on Peace and Harmonious Coexistence” at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC-IIUM), Kuala Lumpur concluded. Since opening on 8 September, these exhibitions have drawn nearly 3,000 visitors.
The exhibitions drew a diverse audience, showcasing a remarkable blend of ethnicities, religions and nationalities that truly exemplified harmony. Among the visitors were Deputy National Unity Minister YB Saraswathy Kandasami and her ministry personnel, foreign ambassadors to Malaysia, representatives from various religious organisations, esteemed academicians and SGM members.
The exhibitions, themed “Shared Values on Peace and Harmonious Coexistence,” garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback. Many visitors expressed their inspiration from the powerful messages of mutual respect as a foundation for peaceful coexistence and commended the narrators for their clear and insightful explanations.
In conjunction with the Lotus Sutra Exhibition, lotus flower-making workshops were held on 15 and 22 September at ISTAC-IIUM, where participants crafted handmade lotus flowers using chenille stems.
