To commemorate the fifth anniversary of Ikeda Peace Park in Klang, SGM Selangor hosted the “Peace Enabled Exhibition” at its culture centre from 30 November to 8 December 2024, attracting 1,200 visitors.
The exhibition showcased 65 artworks by 11 local artists, who are individuals with partial blindness, hearing loss, or autism. Spanning various mediums such as acrylic paintings, oil paintings and digital illustrations, the pieces beautifully conveyed themes of harmony between humanity and nature.
Through their unique perspectives, the artists expressed a deep appreciation for life and an enduring yearning for peace through their artworks.
The opening ceremony cum Ikeda Peace Park’s fifth anniversary celebration was held on 1 December, officiated by Sentosa (Selangor) assemblyperson YB Dr Gunarajah George. He praised the exhibition for its ability to touch hearts and provide a platform for artists to showcase their talent and creativity. He also described Ikeda Peace Park as a beacon of peace, fostering harmony and serving as a hub for community engagement.
The event also featured vibrant culture performances and interactive activities such as games and a pandan leaf rose-making workshop.
