On 15 December 2024, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) Pahang director Mohd Fharid Saidu officiated the “Life’s A Stage – A Photography Exhibition by David Tay Poey Cher” at the SGM Pahang Culture Centre. In his speech, Mr Fharid commended David’s profound interpretation of life and his talent in capturing valuable moments through photography. 

SGM Pahang chairperson Lim Tee Yen expressed his hope that art and culture would serve as a bridge to foster human connections and inspire a deeper appreciation for life’s fleeting yet precious moments.

Following the opening ceremony, David Tay delivered an insightful art talk. He discussed the inspiration behind the exhibition’s theme, his creative approach and his emphasis on capturing emotions through the eyes. David Tay also expressed his wish for viewers to embrace the beauty of simplicity and be inspired to lead more meaningful lives.

The exhibition featured 26 black-and-white photographs depicting various life stages, from the innocence of childhood to the wisdom of old age. Held from 15–22 December 2024, it attracted 339 visitors. Prior to its stop in Pahang, the exhibition was displayed at the SGM Penang and Selangor Culture Centres in April and July 2024, respectively.
