SGM Kuala Lumpur held a book exhibition on 15 October while SGM Selangor and Negeri Sembilan had theirs on 22 October, at their respective culture centres. The books were displayed according to their genres such as educational, children’s literature, dialogues with President Ikeda, among others. Members were seen flipping through the books and engaging in discussions with their friends, immersing themselves in the world of literature.
In conjunction with the book exhibitions, SGM Kuala Lumpur and Selangor also organised book sharing sessions to introduce a new Chinese book titled Towards the Path of Humanism and Peace.
During the session in Kuala Lumpur, SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai shared the significance of the book. He also said that the book analyses the reasons for many pressing issues and proposes practical solutions to guide the world towards humanism and peace. He urged the audience to read it and promote its messages.
Meanwhile, at the session in Selangor, New Era University College dean of Institute of International Education Assoc Prof Dr Tey Shi Bin, who is the chief editor of the book, shared her reasons for undertaking the editorial work despite her hectic schedule. She also mentioned how she structured the content for a better reading experience. She thanked the personnel from SGM publications who helped in ensuring a smooth publication of the book.
At both sessions, the editorial team from SGM publications shared the significance of publishing the book, the editing process and the design concepts. The two sessions attracted 480 attendees both on-site and online.
