On 7 January, 31 members of the SGM Beacon Group from Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Negeri Sembilan gathered at the SGM Culture Centre for a joint meeting. They studied the topic “The Shared Struggle of Mentor and Disciple” from A Religion of Human Revolution.
The participants – consisting of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and students studying healthcare-related courses – learnt to embrace their missions as Bodhisattvas of the Earth, attaining victories in life and bringing hope to others.
The meeting also included a video featuring President Ikeda’s encouragement, a song performance, small group discussion and victory reports sharing.
Beacon Group advisor Dr Christopher Boey encouraged everyone to begin each day with a vigorous gongyo, emphasising the importance of infusing purpose and meaningful significance into each day.
Meanwhile, the group committee leader Dr Siow Yoon Kee urged everyone to engage in actions that benefit society in the spirit of the oneness of mentor and disciple.
