Led by SGM youth division members, commemorative meetings for 16 March Kosen-rufu Day were held nationwide in March, with over 4,000 youths pledging to become youthful Shin’ichi Yamamotos!
During the meetings, a message from Soka Gakkai president Minoru Harada was read.

In Melaka, youth division members had dialogues with over 100 people to welcome the commemorative meeting. Leaders who joined the SGI South Asia Youth General Meeting on 24 February also expressed their determination to strive for kosen-rufu.

In Pahang, participants joyfully engaged in a small group discussion. A men’s division leader then encouraged them to embody the resilience and strength like swords capable of withstanding trials.

Meanwhile in Penang, the young men’s and young women’s divisions leaders shared the direction of their shabukubu movement. Inspired youths expressed their determination to engrave their mentor’s spirit in their lives and take the lead in propagating Nichiren Buddhism.

At one of the venues in Kuala Lumpur, participants learnt about the history and significance of 16 March. Men and women’s division members shared their experiences, urging the participants to take the lead and advance with the organisation throughout their lives.

As this year coincides with the 70th anniversary of President Ikeda’s appointment as youth chief of staff, participants at a venue in Kuala Lumpur recited “Our Vow as Disciples to Soar and Surpass Our Mentor” and sang “Youth! Scale the Mountain of Kosen-rufu of the 21st Century” in high spirits, signifying their commitment to advancing kosen-rufu.
