INTI International University Hosts SGI Anti-Nuclear Weapons Exhibition

On April 3, the SGI exhibition “Everything You Treasure – For a World Free from Nuclear Weapons” (EYT) was held at the Sports Hall of INTI International University in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. This exhibition was co-organised by INTI’s Green Knights student club and SGM Negeri Sembilan.

The exhibition was officially opened by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dato’ Dr Rahmah Mohamed. In her speech, she said the university’s educational philosophy is to nurture students who can contribute to society. Therefore, it is important to learn about issues related to peace. She praised SGM for its efforts in promoting awareness on key issues surrounding peace, such as nuclear weapons abolition, through activities such as EYT. She also expressed agreement with SGI President Daisaku Ikeda’s philosophy of peace praised his peace-building efforts.

SGM President Michael Kok was also present at the ceremony. In his speech, he thanked INTI and the student clubs that co-organised this exhibition with SGM. He expressed hopes of future collaboration with the university.

SGM also donated 40 books, consisting mainly of President Ikeda’s dialogues with world figures, to the university. Upon receiving the books, Prof Dato’ Rahmah said that the university library will allocate a special corner for the books in order to encourage the members of the university community to read them.

Also present at the opening were INTI’s Director of Student Experience Song Kuok Thong, INTIMA (Inti International University’s student government) president Jaiyakandan Tharumalingam, SGM Negeri Sembilan Chairperson Datuk Chong Khin Sang, Honorary Secretary Loke Weng Cheong and INTI students.

Over 100 students and members of the university community viewed the exhibition.
