I learned with sadness the demise of our beloved and respected Daisaku Ikeda, a towering individual who devoted his entire life to promote world peace among mankind regardless of race, colour or creed.

As a person who has spent his whole life promoting peace, Mr Ikeda has lived a miraculous life, dedicated to spreading awareness about peace and mutual understanding. His legacy will be continued by all of us.

It is with sadness that I learnt of the passing of Dr. Daisaku Ikeda, President of Soka Gakkai International.
His demise is a loss not only to the members of Soka Gakkai, but all those who share his ideals.

I first met Dr Ikeda in 2009, when I was the Chancellor of Open University Malaysia, and I have always admired his selfless pursuit of promoting peace around the world through dialogue. His tenacity in achieving peace will forever be an example to us all. His achievements throughout his life made him a treasure for all of humanity.

Daisaku Ikeda was a role model on how to create a better world through the education of the younger generation, and how to resolve differences through dialogue and peaceful means. For all the distinguished contributions he has made, he will be greatly missed.

Daisaku Ikeda did not die. He lives on through the many initiatives he took that continue to make a difference to the world. He lives on through the many people he has inspired to spread the message of human rights, of peace and harmony. Let us all keep working together to make the world that Daisaku Ikeda envisioned happen. We shall never give up. We will walk with him forever and ever.

Dr Ikeda planted a seed that inspired the world and we are touched by
the inspiration of his disciples in our country.

History will always remember Daisaku Ikeda for his key role he played in transforming the world in his time. He left an indelible mark for generations yet unborn to see and applaud. I am proud to be a part of Daisaku Ikeda’s world to propagate peace, especially in the Malay world through the translation work.

The passing of this important leader affects us deeply. Mr Daisaku Ikeda has been an inspiration for me in the fields of art, philosophy, and personality, embodying harmonious qualities, humility, respect for human life, and nature. I will continue to remember him through his writings.
