Being an essential service provider, the banking industry continued to provide its services even during the Movement Control Order (MCO). However, since the Coronavirus outbreak, there have been local and foreign news about bank employees getting infected with Covid19. Working in a bank, Too Jing Ying became worried about facing such risks especially when she was tasked with checking the temperature of every customer who enters the premise.

Realising there is no happiness in weakness and fear, she strengthened her determination in her daily prayers to prevail over her fundamental darkness. Just as SGI President Ikeda says, “Developing a strong spirit, strong faith, and strong prayer is the key to victory….”

Jing Ying does her best to ensure all precautionary measures are in place so that everyone who enters the bank feels safe. She says, “Although the customers cannot see my smile with my face mask on, I assure them by welcoming and assisting their bank errands confidently. The new norm is to ensure everyone practices social distancing. Our hearts are connected though we are physically 1 metre apart. Through the power of words, we can still communicate and help relieve the stress they may be feeling. I am determined to face all challenges that come my way with an unwavering and firm resolve to win in my daily life!”
